That's the problem, they didn't rule it was an overdose. They ruled it was a "cardiac arrest", complicated by the police restraint and neck compression.

Which is nuts, since they coroner also noted that he had a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system, but that somehow didn't make it into the cause of death statement.
Oh, and do you know how a fentanyl OD kills you? That's right, cardiac arrest.
Not to mention all the other symptoms of a fentanyl OD that were present.
