I grew up in a household that adores Reagan. My father said he was by far the greatest of his life time(before trump), but I have the damnest of time trying to figure out what was so good about him. I understand that he fought the unions and basically fired the air traffic controllers which was nice as fuck and how he recovered the economy (not sure about this point). I have a hard time liking him for these reasons: gun bans, amnesty, and he made it easier to get divorces(not sure again, but big if true. Helped ruin the family structure of America). I’m no historian, so I’m sorry if I got these points wrong, but I’d like other people’s take on him! Thanks all:)

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" doesn't ring a bell? The Star Wars program? He needed up our military spending, which helped make our troops the best trained and best equipped and most defense tech forward in the world, and helped bring about an end to the overt Cold War...and Iran released our hostages the day he became president, since it knew he would retaliate. We were at peace for almost the entirety of his eight years in office, and the economy boomed under him after the disastrous Jimmy Carter years, which had hyperinflation and huge surges in mortgage rates and gas rations.
