Time for a declaration of independence by the red states forming a new country with a new constitution, new smaller government. We have our President in exile.

How about use the old Constitution and Bill of Rights, just dump the trillions of pages of legislation that's been added over the last 245 years.

Maybe really clarify that second ammendment so it's not so ambiguous.

Is Shall not be infringed that hard to comprehend?

usdodsgssog 31 points ago +31 / -0

It needs to be easily understood by "educated" folks. Apparently it was written so only neanderthals could understand.

Apparently it is hard to comprehend. Politicians have been picking away with legislation to subvert this particular right almost as soon as the crooks began to outnumber the actual community representatives

Government Luciferianism in The Upside Down World shall not be infringed.

Until they all die.

Better yet: outline very specific punishments for infringing or attempting to infringe on the constitution.

War_Hamster 6 points ago +6 / -0

Treason has a very specific punishment already.

As long as I don’t have to get my bear arms surgically removed I’m all on board

thats exactly what the founders did lol. it kept getting shorter and shorter as to not be misinterpreted.

The founding fathers had the right ideals but underestimated how cancerous and powerful evil is. A new constitution is needed that makes the wording language very clear, specific, and detailed, and prescribes punishment for government officials that transgress it. Additionally it needs to include limits on monopolies.

A country lasting 245 years, and rising to the greatest economic, military, and freedoms is an excellent accomplishment for founding fathers. None better.

We just need to go back to the government existing only to uphold the right to life, liberty, pursuit of property, and the pursuit of happiness.

The constitution could be elaborated on to make it abundantly clear that the above rights shall not be infringed for any reason, no matter what grandiose bleeding heart reasons they come up for it.

The Constitution needs to be revised to make it abundantly clearly that the federal government can only do the handful of things explicitly outlined in the constitution and to put limits on them.

  • the "general welfare" clause was fluffy writing giving a reason for powers, not a power itself.
  • interstate commerce clause needs limits.
  • might want to put some explicit limits on the elastic clause too.
  • the eminent domain thing is a bit abusive.

You've been doing your homework. These are all valid issues.

The way to do this, of course, is at a Convention of States. They've been gaming out hypothetic Constitutional Conventions for awhile, and the repeal of the 17th Amendment is always 1st or 2nd on the list of actions.

There's a few other troublesome Amendments, but repealing the 17th is the most important for returning to a Constitutional Republic and reasserting States' sovereignty.

Not just smaller, but at the very least cleaned up thoroughly and kept clean continuously from infiltrators, saboteurs, traitors and the like.

Add term limits, and clarify that " public service" means you don't get a blank check for life. A representative of a community should not be making 100x the income of the people they represent. That income gap means they no longer represent the same people. If the federal median income is $50,000, that's what they should get. Same healthcare, retirement. No lifetime full pay bullshit

17
quietam_uxorem 17 points ago +17 / -0

Agreed, but no retirement. Politics should not be a career; serve your term(s) and go back to your real job. Also, once out of office - no Secret Service detail, no security briefings, etc. - you're a private citizen again.

kazimiera 8 points ago +8 / -0

I can agree with all these amendments . No other private citizen gets special treatment.

5
SellTheSun 5 points ago +7 / -2

The only people who should get secret service detail for life are those like the President who have knowledge other countries would kill to get. Basically, when it's in the public's interest that a particular person is protected.

That seems much more like minor band-aid solutions.

A critical issue and problem is that there are organized groups related to and working with the leftists, deep state, communists, etc., that purposefully and intentionally seek the destruction of the USA and the enslavement and extermination of its people, among other things. These groups consider themselves genuinely extremely or more evil according to their own views, perspectives and values, and they prefer what they themselves consider genuinely evil.. You will not only need to clean up government thoroughly, but also figure out how to deal with these groups in your country. Deportation? Other?

The 2nd amendment is the main barrier slowing them down. And they are very much eager to abolish the 2nd amendment as much as possible.

I don’t necessarily agree on the compensation. The compensation should only come from the people so they understand who their boss is.

Part of what got us here is that government and HR positions tend to be low-paying, miserable jobs with little financial improvement over time that patriots have largely avoided in favor of the much better options in the capitalist economy.

The govt jobs have been largely infiltrated by people too lazy to do well in the private sector and like the solid job security and generous benefits plus the sprinkling of excessive authority over theiir betters who occasionally wander into their domain in need of their services. These same people also tend to be entranced by the promises of socialism, expecting additional compensation/handouts based solely on their existence.

The govt needs to be shrunk massively, huge obstacles put up against increases in rules and red tape, compensation appropriate to attract competent patriots, and the ability to easily dislodge the entrenched. Term limits being a good start
