I just worked with a kid who became suicidal and was hospitalized. The school shutdown and isolation was a major contributing factor.

It's tough to be a based psychologist these days

Lots of pressure to betray your values! I definitely have to be selective about when to speak up.

I can't do it. I drag my feet when somebody wants me to cheerlead their child into transness. I just tell them that according to my licensure, any "trans" issues are by definition not a mental health thing. Anxiety, depression, yes. Trans issues have specific legal protection that puts that issue into a category I am forbidden by law from addressing.

God bless you. Helping kids right now is crucial to their health.

Thanks! Technically I was working with the parent, but especially with younger kids the parents are a central part of the system of health or dysfunction. Parents aren’t doing well right now, and the trickle down effect is real.

Isolation maybe.
