Germany was a country of 80 million. China is 1.2 billion. We're talking an order of magnitude more humans they can throw into whatever conflict or project they want to undertake.
But if the US moved its manufacturing base from China to literally ANYWHERE else, China would collapse. They sell their slave labor to our corporations in the form of low overhead, our domestic economy can't compete, and you see the results now. Buy products made ANYWHERE but China whenever you can.
This is what free trade results in. Free trade ends up trickling down to the slave nations and enriching their rulers while hollowing out the first-world middle class. You cannot engage in free trade with countries that have different forms of government than your own.
"You cannot engage in free trade with countries that have different forms of government than your own."
People can't get that through their skull for some reason. I don't fucking understand what's so hard to get about it. It's basic math; US minimum wage federally is what, 7 dollars (ofc it won't stay that way much longer...)? China's "minimum" (not enforced, just practical averages) wage is about 3 USD last I looked. If I'm hiring workers with only profits as my aim, I'm hiring Chinese. I make my products for cheaper, sell them in my own country for more than I could sell them elsewhere, and get rich AF. Consumers would not be making income from me; they're only giving me money. That money that they give goes to me and to my workers in China, as well as any middlemen I pay to ensure smooth business operations. The CCP is getting American consumer money (by taking it through taxes/tariffs) without giving any back. Simple math. Take one out, but don't put it back in, and you have one less.
Oh, but My EcOnOmIsTs SaY tHaT OpEn BoRdErS tRaDe PrOdUcEs A hIgHeR nEt PrOfIt! AnD mY IpHoNe Is ChEaPeR!!!
Ben shapiro and other cuckservatives think muh free trade is just dandy even if we are having our middle class gutted and destroyed. Yet, people on the right still believe that good ole GOP talking point of free trade = everyone happy. WRONG
