America was just that great. People dressed nice, went to church, family outings. TV and movies were family friendly. Illegals had a hard time getting in and were swiftly deported. No homeless bums. Neighborhoods were relatively safe. Family businesses were thriving. Perverts stayed hidden. Crazy people who acted out were locked up in mental hospitals.I think the sky seemed bluer back then. Every kid read Dr. Suess. Life will never be that way again.

Even the Bums wore jackets and wool pants and shoes no matter if a bit scuffed.

My Grandma used to invite down on their luck transients in for a warm meal. They were not bums - they tried to keep clean and said thank you and God bless you!

That's what they told you. There's no more domestic violence or addiction today, after deconstructing the nuclear family, right? Nice lack of critical thinking you have there.

You might find this video interesting. It breaks down the movie Pleasantville and its role in the demonization of a less pozzed America.
