You could literally run trains in the street, because people weren't too stupid to walk or drive around them.

You could ride trains and busses because you wouldn't get hassled.

Oh don't worry, there are still literally trains being run in the street, but the rape kind.

I want off this ride.

Can we get off the; woke, sjw, pedophile, race war, all whites are evil, ride please. It's time we all realize if that was 100 years ago, and we are where we are, what is it gonna look like in 100 years.

I'll have to disagree with you on that. I'm still holding out hope that it's a shitty cultural phenomenon. I've interacted with/worked with plenty of Basketball-Americans who are super-sharp and professional in some of the most professional environments. /pol/ is sometimes not always right.

Fake News! That's not a picture from 1916 because the car being driven wasn't invented until the late 20's

The Ford Model T (colloquially known as the "tin Lizzie", "leaping Lena", "jitney" or "flivver") is an automobile produced by Ford Motor Company from October 1, 1908. Get your facts straight.

What a bunch of backwater inbreds. I'm so glad it's 2021 and we're living in an age of enlightened modernity.

I'm always fascinated by the people in the pictures, wondering about the lives of our ancestors.

Note the teenage girl walking with her mother (bottom of pic, approaching the car) Almost as tall as her mother, but still wearing "kid clothes." Not quite old enough to "put her hair up" and dress like a grownup, she probably hated it but was too respectful to complain.

Probably the most rebellious thing she said was to timidly ask, "Mama, when can I put my hair up?" The good old days, for real.

I like this.

Life was different. Expectations were different. That girl could have been a person entirely more subversive than you, and you'll never read her story.

I thought that there would be more bicycles back then.
