They walked along the Oregon Trail, hoping to eventually own their own land. They broke the sod, grew their own food plus a little extra to sell. Not one ever asked for charity. My own mother used to say: "Use it up, make it do. Wear it out, or go without." Our ancestors built this fucking country and I'll be damned if I am going to let some asshole cheaters take it away.
It's not privilege. The privilege is the culture we live by. We don't glorify rape, we don't glorify violence, and we don't glorify drugs. Those three things are prevalent in every black "culture" song.
