After being silenced for too long I've had enough. Guys, it's time. I'm risking my life and all 2 of my friends by doing this. Now call me brave or you're a bigot. Where's my parade and medals?

Is there a difference between gay and queer now, too, that both adjectives are included in the description?

Non-joke answer:
Several decades ago it was my understanding that "queer" included not just gays, but also transvestites, and whatever similar stuff one might think of. Some of them used the term that way themselves. Basically the same as LGBTQ+ (even though the Q stands for queer).

Knew a guy in high school we called queer, attributed more to behavior than orientation. Some gays are gay and others act and speak very gay, in general they are referred to as queer, though not by equality activists and such. As an example you'd only very rarely call a gay child a queer.

I never heard any person refer to himself as "a queer" (noun), only saying "I'm queer" (adjectival)...and in academia, the study of homosexuality is called Queer Studies.

This was years ago so I'm sure the times have changed. Hell, we had many names for him.
