As for Pepe, yeah, he ALWAYS creeped me out. My mother is in her 80s and said the same thing. It would have been great if they just made him colossally unaware of why people feared skunks, and had a non-defeatist, devil may care attitude, but he terrified that poor, frantic pussy (we felt sorry for her), so it wasn't funny to me, or to my mother, even though we couldn't quite put into words why he made us feel uncomfortable. I'm mestizo and I used to watch Speedy Gonzalez with my mother and grandmother. We all loved him. All of my siblings, cousins, second cousins, aunts and uncles too. That's at least 50 people.
