In principle, I'm fine with working from home. It requires good managers and proactive employees, but it can be perfectly fine. However, for the lazy it can be a boondoggle and some jobs just fail in that setting (I'm looking at you first grade teachers).
Honestly, I don't think there are any white collar jobs that can't be done from home, with the exception of medicine. People usually drive to work just to work on a computer anyways, why not cut out the inefficient middle part? Most people are actually working 10 hours a day if you include drive time, and that's not good for productivity or morale.

Pretty much all industrial manufacturing and R&D cannot be done from home. You can't have machines or fume hoods at your house.
