This story is extremely confusing. Of what importance is the person who's barn burnt down? Why burn the barn down? How is this linked with shredded ballots?

That farm is owned, I believe, by one of the board of supervisors. It practically says it in the title of the article.

It is confusing. So what they're implying is, the people responsible for turning the ballots over just moved the ballots illegally and then had a barn fire that possibly destroyed the ballots?

That seems kind of drastic, to burn your own chickens to get rid of the ballots. Isn't it more likely that a local patriot burned down his farm to teach him a lesson?
