I think you're confusing motive and means with the end result. The end result was profiteering, but when isn't it? Plus, Nixon hated the elites and vice versa so he was a pawn as President and foreign policy genius I guess in all of that or he was complicit? I also don't see how not normalizing relations with China would've helped us, not to mention there was plenty of reason to keep up the Cold War as far as profits go. My point being it wasn't the normalizing relations that fucked us it was the management of the rise of China that fucked us.

I totally get the sentiments of fuck Kissinger and fuck Nixon even if I don't totally agree with that.... but not particularly on this issue. There are so many other people to point the finger at. Any sources you would recommend that explain it better?
