I haven't carried a cellphone for about 6-ish years, and it's the most interesting study of society I've done. People think something's wrong with you because you don't always have one on you, and people get genuinely mad that you aren't at their beckoning call at all times. It's fucking wild man.
People don't know where I am, what I'm doing or who I'm with. I'm not constantly telling some company where I go regularly.
I have a cellphone and a VOIP sort of deal. It's like having the convenience of texting and calling but off of an old school house phone. If I'm not home you can't reach me. It makes going out actually going out. The people I want to talk to I'm with. I fell like I actually have a private life, while others are simply feigning actual privacy.
It has caused some issues with relationships though. Fucking women always want you up their ass these days. They act like me not carrying a cellphone is admirable and a shirking of the hyper self importance, but freak out when you go 12 or so hours of not texting them or calling them. And fuck that. That's not how I am. I'm 26 with a full-time job. I'll speak to you when I can. It's my timetable not yours.
That last bit was more of a rant though lol.
I'd happily bump my smoking habit to 6 packs a day before carrying a cellphone again.
I feel it. I’m your age and I don’t like carrying it everywhere either and could likely survive just fine with one thats just for calls. Don’t like the idea of apps knowing where i’m at all day everyday. Not to mention the unknown issues it likely causes when you go to check it every 2 minutes like a crackhead

It's like a leash. Pinging noise = better check to see if it's important.
Pavlovs Dog.
Pavlov would be so proud of these sheep.
What would you say are the benefits you’ve experienced? Less anxiety, etc.?
Cell phones are the modern day cigs
Privacy. It's all about privacy.
