This is still pointless. The stereotype of asian monks living in a temple on some exotic snowy mountain taking care of some strange monument (or in this case, animal) is a stereotype asians often impose on themselves. It's one found in countless novels, comics, anime, video games, etc.
Sheesh, let's censor Kung Fu Panda next. The slippery slope is real.
"To Think I saw it on Mulberry Street" is one of the "controversial works" that's been discontinued.
The Chinese boy with sticks is the only image in that book I can think of that might justify this reaction.
.
(Not that it's justified, it's still totally idiotic)
Other than acknowledging that racism existed and still exists what purpose does all this cancelling serve? We should use to teach and move on.
Taking an author out of context of times is not fair. It is like judging Washington’s doctors as quacks because they used leeches. That was a standard practice of that time.
i would still buy this book for my kids even if it had racist undertones, because i know how to monitor the media they consume and give context and explanation to it
i can easily tell my kids that THIS is an example of what they need to avoid exhibiting themselves
"this right here, is a little racist. do you know why? let me explain"
parents who let their children grow up indoctrinated by plunking them in front of a TV and then peacing the fuck out are the problem
this wasn't the problem area
there was one that said "wears their eyes as slants"
and it wasn't even like a necessary "rhyme", rather it was shoehorned in because the doctor wanted to make that statement
couple that with the junglebunny looking depictions of what can only be intended as a portrayal of africans and it's looking pretty bad for him
eating with sticks is just another straw on top of the heap

It's the double-standard that's the issue. Leftists can do racist shit all the time and not get canceled.

Mentioning cultural and biological differences isn't racist.
You've been brainwashed.

Bro there are scientific papers about the Asian eye slant.
It's not racist it's a fact.
If you want to teach your kids something then teach them the 4 agreements.
Cause you'd just raise SJWs with your method.
unlikely since i teach my kids it's proper to earn what you get in life
