Um... you might want to edit that as the 15th is the right to vote based on race, and I'm pretty sure you misremembered something.
16th is the income tax (agreed), while 17 is the direct election of senators (unsure on this one tbh).

The 17th is indeed the direct election of Senators and it took power away from the States. That has to be overturned. Imagine Senators who cared about their Constituents instead of big corporate donors and special interest groups?
I imagine it'd stop a lot of this nonsense, especially if the federal senators were renewed/fired every time a new state congress was formed.
That was the exact reason the Founding Fathers wrote Article 2, Section 1 to make it this way. If you read the Federalist Papers, there are volumes of discussion supporting this.
The main argument is that the States, the People, and the Federal government would all have representation.
The 17th took the State's representation away and gave more power to "the people". I use italics because direct democracy is and always should be avoided. It's subject to manipulation and is nothing more than mob rule.
We are a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy, and that power grab 108 years ago needs to be reversed. You can see the how much our country we've lost from just this one little Amendment.
