Seems to be a slightly more severe flu. I'd imagine they intended for the wuflu to be much worse than it was. While it lacked the sheer manstopping power they intended, the media fucked people up psychologically to compensate. People turned into hypochondriacs who self diagnosed everything as covid and the hospitals were happy to tell them they had it. I'd assume some older people who caught it lost the will to live, thinking it was some super deadly disease they couldn't possibly recover from.
