In recent years it’s been incredible to see dictionaries changing definitions literally days after Democratic officials and the media incorrectly use words.
See I love your example because it’s so blatantly manipulative with insanely vague, subjective words. Privilege and power can be perceived and described differently by every single person. That’s how they get all the stupid lefties. Language is so powerful because too many have dont have the readings skills to get why their message is bullshit.
Encourage kids to learn to code! We make jokes about it, but learning to talk to a machine develops excellent language skills. Exactness in vocabulary, logic and syntax is essential. These language skills are then applied to human spoken and written language to great advantage!!!
Any good recommendations for a physical dictionary? I've been in the market but have no idea what to go with? Should I get something from the 90's or 80's? Or even farther back?
Watch out for ax-grinders using the terms prescriptive vs descriptive. They've used a linguistic debate for their own ends by saying that words don't really have concrete meaning but rather meanings change with the flow of culture. Problem is the debate really is about boomers complaining about people using words like "ain't" and "irregardless" and not about letting psycho lefties change the meaning of words whenever it suits their agenda.
It's actually pretty surprising how these idiots stand by this concept. They think that if you say a word has a specific meaning that all ythey have to do is say "that's prescriptive gatekeeping" or some dumb shit like that. The reality is they don't get to decide what words mean and nor does the dictionary. And the reason why dictionaries and expedient ideologues don't get to decide is because they don't represent the majority of language users.
Again, this is all part of the leftist propaganda machine. They want you to think that there are more of them than there are people like us.
yeah idk on one hand words do mean something and the idea that they don't is postmodern garbo, but on the other hand what use is a dictionary if it doesn't allow you to understand what people are saying?

Yeah like how they quietly changed the definition of herd immunity to focus on vaccines and not T cells/exposure.
And changing the definition of racism to "Privilege + power" to ensure that only whites can be "racist"

"LeBron James is a privileged athlete that used his power to form a friendship with Bill Clinton and kill Kobe Bryant."
"Language is so powerful."

I love the change because now I trap them with the JQ
This all started with the N word. Happened right after the RG3 is too white fiasco.
Or "marriage". That's a nice one.

Any specific editions that you recommend? And what year?
Hence why I bought an old set of dictionaries! Printed word doesn’t change.
I think this is a really good idea.

Solid input, Sully!
Thanks, Sully.
