We are looking at it the wrong way. They become leftists primarily because they don't have much of a meaningful life themselves. Not much to live for. You can pay people as much as you like and brainwash them as much as you want, but anyone with loved ones to go back to (or a life of any kind) won't riot in the presence of police, try to kill cops or risk everything for a "movement".
