I saw a guy on the Pat McAfee podcast who was in Time magazine or some other big rag back in the eighties. He was like number 18 on the list of top fifty mobsters at the time. He's the only one still alive.
It's crazy these gangs were literally bombing people in Los Angeles in the 80s. They even had a major fight in public at the Harrah's casino in Laughlin, NV. It was all on camera. Like 4 dudes died. People shooting, stabbing, swinging wrenches and hammers into people's heads. It was like total mayhem.
I’m surprised this Movie hasn’t been canceled completely yet. At least TCM from what I recall would still air it, in unedited form like gone with the wind and others. Film and art should be protected from cancel culture and extinction outbursts.

Cancelling a movie with a black lead is problematic for them. Cleavon was a very respected and awarded stage actor, along with Blazing Saddles.
