At the time these officers were charged, there was a theory that Ellison deliberately inflated the charges specifically to elicit a violent response when the court has to either acquit or downgrade to mansluaghter.
They have yet to pick the jury. That’s scheduled for March 8th. This hearing is to determine whether or not 3rd degree murder will be reinstated as a charge despite two hearings already dismissing it based on evidence.

If Chauvin is not convicted there will be riots and calls of white supremacy
If Chauvin is convicted and his fellow cops at the scene are not, there will be riots and calls of ACAB
If Chauvin and the other cops at the scene are found guilty, tied to a post and shot by a firing line there will be George Floyd remembrance marches which will break out into riots.
And this will happen not just in Minneapolis but everywhere the law will allow riots to happen, those 11 cities come to mind: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, NYC, DC, Atlanta, Houston.
