Because NC (my state) does not allow us to recall the governor to remove from office. Now unofficially we could but that would involve 1776 levels of involvement.

I don’t think the majority of states even have a recall option. I know my Blue State of New Jersey doesn’t.

I also know New York doesn’t, otherwise Cuomo would’ve got kicked out by now.
