The major fast food chains in my area are already hiring at around $15/hr.

The only thing this is going to accomplish is hurting independent business.

But that's really the point.

They "test" it in areas, but when an entire system that the entire world is connected to does it? Absolute shit show. And, yes, it will shrink the ever shrinking "small business community". But you know, people like AOC never cry about how much shit goes into the air from transporting TONS of products over 1-2 oceans from China. Curious.

I really wish I would see more non-chain places around to eat. Just a place that said "burger join" and "we got shakes and beer" under it.

I am all for paying every Walmart, Fast Food, Amazon worker $25/hr minimum wage and full benefits, so those companies are forced to raise their prices so they stop undermining small businesses. Then have no such mandate whatsoever for small business. This would help level the playing field.

Fast food could include a mom and pop burger shop. Limit it to corporate chains. This is actually how socialism/corporatism should work anyway if that's what they want. Tax corps because they have the biggest profit base and they get government protection anyway, leave independent businesses alone. (I'm not advocating this as an economic policy, but if you're going to go socialism this way is better than treating all companies the same.)

Except we do just the opposite, only taxes aren't the mechanism. The big corporations lobby for stricter regulatory burdens which the big boys can easily absorb while the small businesses get smothered and the barriers to entry become restrictive. It's a stealth takeover of small business which our politicians are so happy to accommodate. RINOs wrote this playbook.

Exactly, it's all just a transfer of wealth.

Yes full agree. Maybe public companies with a certain size market cap.

Ya but they'd lobby for assistance and we'd get some Tax-payer Subsidized shit show like we already do w/ UPS and Amazon's free ride of the former.

Tell them to upgrade it to high pressure water or plasma. Then you can really start having fun.

It's not just the fast food work, it permitted everything... to the point where it becomes cheaper to have manufacturing done overseas.

That's the whole point.

It's like Xiden & Co. wants another win for China.
