Ok, you've triggered a memory. I have read that before. It's an interesting twist on history and very plausible. It also explains the Mafia/union connection even more as they (the Mafia) are/were very racist.
Can that idea exist alongside an appreciation for the unions forcing the Robber Barons to pay a reasonable wage? Maybe the trust-busters would have taken care of that without the unions and competition would have found the right wage for black and white workers?
"Reasonable wage" may not have been the right word there, but I'll make a semantic argument that it isn't fallacious, just for fun.
If I'm trying to decide what to pay you, I'm going to look at what similar jobs pay in the market, assess whether you're worthy of that or a higher rate, make a calculation as to what the risk of losing you to a competitor and factor that into the mix, and then, using reason, I make you a reasonable answer.
You, in turn, make similar calculations and use reason to decide whether or not to accept the reasonable offer.
Ok, that's enough of that. It's a bit of a stretch.
Anyways, I'm familiar with most arguments regarding minimum wage, but I'll watch your videos later. Bookmarked.
Oh, and for the record, I'm a huge proponent of free markets that are self, not gov't, regulated. I only want the gov't involved for judicial purposes and to ensure no monopolistic behavior that the other two checks can't handle takes place.

The free market always finds a way right? and reasonable wage is kind of fallacious.
You should watch the entire video where this is actually touched on
