Forgot the part where big corporations skirt minimum wage by resourcing entire departments overseas for cheaper labor.

And make sure that you don’t work full time hours to avoid benefits.

and can afford to purchase the ai/robots to go human-free on a large scale.

Yup. Only big corporations can afford things like offshoring and automation. This destroys small businesses and helps the large corporations that donate to politicians.

Not a single big business speaking out against the minimal wage hike

It used to be an "Inconceivable" idea that Companies could destroy their secondary competitors, small business, in retail and restaurants.

Just like in Ricardo's time, it was inconceivable that a Manchester Textile Mill would be broken down and shipped to India.

Shows we are 100% a communist economy now. People don't want to realize it, but they fucking need to. These mega corps don't live off their customers anymore, their customers are trapped and the government paves the way for their competition to be destroyed (so long as it becomes real competition).

Also businesses that genuinely compete against the tech giants CONSTANTLY have their bank accounts shut down and credit card processors. The MSM takes part in smear campaigns and their owners set up in FBI stings / setup that often land their owners in jail for life.

Couldn't agree more. There a nexus of control now between Big Tech, Big Banks, the MSM (which are basically content providers for Social Media), and frankly, the CCP and the US Government itself.

Been reading some Moldbug recently, and he pointed out a lot of shit years ago... the Iron Triangle and the perversion of the City on the Hill mentality and so forth.

There's a chilling naivete in Conservative-Libertarian circles about the whole thing.

Another fan: Landlords. As soon as they know their residents got a big pay increase, they'll jack up the rent to proportionally what it was before.

Or their costs to maintain the property increase when min wage increases and they need to compensate....

You mean the government? They own all the landlords now.

1
NoCoupForYou 1 point ago +1 / -0

Perhaps. Via Wall Street, which has captured the government: We've never had such ownership of everything from SFH to Individual Condos owned via financial instruments like we do today. In previous eras, only substantial commercial properties or massive residential projects were owned by Wall Street.

They can utilize automation easier than the small guy. This would be a job killer.

1
LoobintheToobin 1 point ago +1 / -0

And can afford automation.

Huurrr durr. If they lowered taxed and removed minimal wage people would be much more better off. They're playing small and large business off against each other here when the real wage suppression is government.

What people don't understand is that raising the minimum wage devalues the US dollar, which also devalues DEBT. These companies have an enormous amount of debt. The dollar value of their stock and property will rise, but their debt will shrink.
