I'm starting to think so. I was going to reply with some of the times they prevailed true justice that was in our favor but I can't think of any to be honest. Everything has slowly been moving farther and farther left.

The worst part is the BETRAYAL, the UNFORCED ERROR. We could have had THREE more Clarence Thomases or Scalisis, instead of Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barretts. That would have changed everything, to have a 6-3 SCOTUS. We were betrayed by the people who were supposed to protect us, and sadly Trump either played into their trap or just didn't get the job done.
Not really. Barrett came highly recommended by the Scalia family. How is that an unforced error? Who knew she was such a weak person?
Anyway. We don't know whether we are getting a Souter or a Thomas when we nominate these people. Hell, even Souter ruled "conservatively" for a while before the Washington DC cocktail circuit got to him.
Unforced because the Democrats did not MAKE the Republicans choose her. It was up to the Republicans to do their Due Diligence and make DAMN sure their candidate was absolutely beyond reproach. They failed, and it wasn't because of anything the Democrats did. Therefore, unforced. Who knew? They were supposed to know. If we accept failure the other side is too good at beating us, then we're just are just going to die out and be forgotten in history.
You can blame the Scalia family, the Federalist Society, Trump/Us in that order, I guess. So how could we have done this differently? Sounds like we need a ground up re-tooling of conservative law.
In some areas, judges are selected by election. Everybody who goes to vote asks, "Who are these guys? Who should we vote for?" Nobody really knows anything about judges.
One way to remedy that would be to make some kind of a record, maybe website, with some legal scholars we trust (Robert Barnes, Viva Frei, Nick Rekieta, Dershowitz, etc.) giving scores on some kind of a website that tracks their backgrounds, cases and decisions. Or it could be open to all legal scholars and you check the ones you trust and filter by that.
Another way would be that we have a movement or group that represents us and our values, who we can trust to select judges who also represent our values. We could come up with a fancy name for that group, like "Republic-people", or "Republicans" or something like that. Then when we elect them into government, to head the Senate or be President, they would select judges who would vote according to the Constitution and protecting the Republic.
I'm open to other ideas.

and 90% of our government is completely owned by one radical authoritarian ideology. But a supreme court justice MUST be expert and experienced, and wise, about law, the Republic, and the Constitution. That is precisely what they rule on.
Justice Thomas wasn't even a judge before the GW Bush administration. The law isn't rocket science or brain surgery. It's about reason and research. And making up believable bullshit.

Because she was one of Scalia's clerks and the family knew her very well through Scalia. If Justice Scalia had badmouthed her behind her back, they wouldn't have pushed her the way they did.

I agree that it's tough. But imagine somebody wants you dead and sets up a duel to decide your fate a la Game of Thrones. They choose a murderous giant called "The Mountain". You could either face this guy yourself, or choose a hero to do it for you. Yeah, it's dangerous, and yeah, most people couldn't do it. But it's up to you, and more particularly your advisors, to choose somebody who CAN do it, and it's up to the hero to advertise themselves correctly as somebody who can do the fight. Otherwise you can make as many excuses as you want for why they failed, but they will still fail and you will still be dead at the end of it.
It needs to be illegal to dismiss without comment.
