When I was in school, I was taught that we are all working to achieve utopia through acceptance of everyones differences by getting rid of hate, distrust and othering.
Instead, we got a world where nothing makes sense, no decision can be made, no opinion can be had, where sexual deviants make our health policies and predators clothe them selves in the holy cloth of acceptance of alternate sexuality so they can get access to our children through media, culture and schools.
What I now realize is that we were not being taught to achieve utopia. That was a slight of hand. Instead, what was happening was that we were being de-fanged and our defenses lowered one tiny bit by one tiny bit over several generations so that no one would notice.
If you told me a few years ago, that I would be here with the realization that hate, distrust, othering, strong borders, strong offense, strong defenses, strong families, complete and utter disgust and a deep desire to rid the world of deviants ... I would have called you crazy.
Yet here we all are.
Now I understand Weimar. They were right all those years ago. We aren't the "modern" generation. Our conservative hard ass ancestors were the forward looking, clear thinking modern generation. We are the backward looking deviant children that spent our inheritance on nothing. We spent it on trinkets from china, sexual depravity in our culture and child predators in our schools.
And so we roll the dice once more. Let's see where we end up this time.
