It's interesting: I can watch a movie featuring alien invaders, super-humans, and nuclear mega-dinosaurs, and be able suspend my disbelief completely. As soon as they introduce "good" cops or honorable FBI agents, it instantly snaps me out of the story.

Some things are too preposterous to believe.
