I got fired just for refusing to wear a mask at my part-time job. I work at round table pizza. Never felt so good in my life. The manager and the employees harassed me for not wearing a mask.

I live in Florida where most restaurant employees wear masks. It is disgusting. They constantly touch the moist area of the mask, pulling it from their face as they talk. Then they touch my plates, napkins and glasses? Disgusting.

I thought florida doesn't have mask mandates. Why are people still wearing masks there.

I am not sure if the bars and restaurants are supposed to have their servers in masks, but most of them do in my county. The motorcycle bar does not. It’s retarded. I haven’t worn a mask since May, and I am still alive.

Update: after the deli I went into a supermarket without a mask and got away with it. I was on edge but told myself if someone talks to me I'll pretend they aren't there and make them feel awkward.

Just move with purpose. Chin up, intentional with your eyes. I have literally never had any non-employee say a word to me.

I frequent grocers, Home Depot, restaurants, etc. If you go somewhere and they are enforcing the mask farce, just leave. Spend $ in places that let you make choices.

This. Grocery store near home never says a word, and even took down their mask signs for a bit. It's the only place I shop, because it's the only place I feel welcome. Lefty as fuck state, and lefty as fuck city.

I'll kill for those people, if they ask me to. Their respect for me has earned my loyalty.

That’s what I do. I just walk right by them, or don’t even acknowledge their existence.

I admit it, I wimp out and wear it sometimes. Some days I'm braver than others. But I'm gradually wearing it less and less.

They're not sheep, they're cattle. Vaccine means of or pertaining to cattle, the branding comes next.

I havent worn a mask since week two of this shit. Only two people said shit to me a karen who i told equal rights mean equal lefts....her busband had to explain it to her...she left me alone. And a guy with his daughter who i then asked where she wemt to school......he flat out left my vicinity.

These fucks are coward larpers, dont be afraid of them.

By equal rights, equal lefts, do you mean that she doesn't have the "authority" to tell you what to do with your life because you are an equal to her and you can do whatever you want? Why do you think asking the daughter where she went to school made them go away?

What the fuck was scary about standing up for your own rights. I never wear a mask to work or the grocery store for over a year now. I tell them it's my body, my choice and continue shopping.

It's tough when you're the only one (and everywhere I go, I am the ONLY one not wearing it). Give her credit for having the courage to take that step.

I think because it was the first time. I believe the next time will be easier. Not all of us are as brave as u and some need more encouragement than others.

KMacsBinder 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good on you. Keep it up and it will get easier. Then people will follow your lead and this farce will all be over. I have been asked to put a mask on at many different places in the past year and I always decline. The only place to ever make a scene over it was Menards. There are no laws here requiring masks. There are only fake mandates, which are completely unenforceable. If a business refuses me service, I will leave and no longer give them my money.

What was the scary part? The prospect of people confronting you about it?

AlpineSeaHolly [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was alone in a liberal city. I am a quiet and shy girl and not great at verbally and convincingly defending myself if a stranger catches me off guard. Somehow my brain told me to take the risk. As I was ordering my sandwich I could feel my heartbeat... older people started coming in and I started having thoughts like "great, now they think I don't give a shit about them." I am so happy I braved it out and liberated myself on 3/8. I believe many people are scared of others too and I'll keep doing this.

UrTVisLying2U 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've had multiple people tell me they'd take thiers off but they don't want to deal with the hassle of possible confrontation. They're not afraid of getting sick. They just want to avoid the mask nazis. I imagine you encouraged someone else today and tomorrow they will leave theirs at home. Stay brave. Put some headphones on, ignore them, and go about your day living your normal life just as you've always done.

I've never worn one and only when i had to visit the ER for stones did someone say something. I told em no and vomited in the waiting room from pain and that ended the situation. Lol.

One of my favourite things to do in public now if I'm getting shitty looks is to start coughing and sniffling. Oh man the looks are to die for. That and I keep wadded up singles in pocket to pay for small buys if the employees are being shitty. I know I'm an asshole but fuck em. Keep it up amd make a game out of it if it makes it easier. The LOLs are good too.
