What was the scary part? The prospect of people confronting you about it?

I was alone in a liberal city. I am a quiet and shy girl and not great at verbally and convincingly defending myself if a stranger catches me off guard. Somehow my brain told me to take the risk. As I was ordering my sandwich I could feel my heartbeat... older people started coming in and I started having thoughts like "great, now they think I don't give a shit about them." I am so happy I braved it out and liberated myself on 3/8. I believe many people are scared of others too and I'll keep doing this.

I've had multiple people tell me they'd take thiers off but they don't want to deal with the hassle of possible confrontation. They're not afraid of getting sick. They just want to avoid the mask nazis. I imagine you encouraged someone else today and tomorrow they will leave theirs at home. Stay brave. Put some headphones on, ignore them, and go about your day living your normal life just as you've always done.

I've never worn one and only when i had to visit the ER for stones did someone say something. I told em no and vomited in the waiting room from pain and that ended the situation. Lol.

One of my favourite things to do in public now if I'm getting shitty looks is to start coughing and sniffling. Oh man the looks are to die for. That and I keep wadded up singles in pocket to pay for small buys if the employees are being shitty. I know I'm an asshole but fuck em. Keep it up amd make a game out of it if it makes it easier. The LOLs are good too.
