The crypto world is more diverse then you make it out to be. There are plenty of stable coins pegged to different currencies or assets. Not everything is a wild swing down or up on a daily basis. Basically crypto in gabs case would solve their problem. Decentralized finance doesn’t care what your political affiliation is.

A cryptocurrency has no real basis in terms of what drives its value. There is a limited amount. That is all that one can go off of. Whales can own like half of a cryptocurrency and can manipulate its value. They're not great. I say this as someone who has invested in ETH and BTC in the past.

But the value really stems from the fact that there are no alternatives.
