There could be valid reasons to oppose the bill. It could be someone extremely principled who is worried about someone being set-up or falsely accused having their life stripped away. Or maybe they don't want to absorb the enormous cost of housing these degenerates for life sentences. Or maybe they want them dead instead.
The "distribution" part of the bill is super easy to abuse, considering the lax chain of evidence control in our "justice" system.
We already have strong laws against the shit, the problem is getting politicians elected that actually ENFORCE the law.
This is a distraction - they didn't pass vote security bills and instead distract you with this power fantasy.
I'm conflicted on this thread, since I absolutely despise pedos and want the producers of the shit to get exiled to a barren island, but do not want to give the state so much power.
So does this mean 16 year olds taking certain kinds of pictures of themselves get them sent to prison for life now? Technically that would be production.
I would hope they would be smart enough to craft the bill in such a way that it wouldn't put kids doing stupid things in prison for life. But who knows, politicians aren't always the brightest people.
