Parenthood literally changes the way your brain works, for example the disgust center of your brain deactivates when you're changing diapers and such. I could see something similar happening when sex and your child is involved, like mothers probably don't even see their kids except as asexual creatures. That might also be why they're good at raising kids, but terrible at raising teenagers.
