Want to see something really fucking creepy?

It doesn't seem like much, until you realize that I'm not logged in (because I've never had a Twitter account, or any other social media for that matter) and my IP isn't even located in this state. How the hell do they know where I live and why are they spying on me? I've known for a long time that Big Brother was watching, but this is some next-level surveillance state bullshit. You can leave Twitter, but the whole goddamn internet is compromised.

I don't really care where they got the information, the point is about how fucked up it is that these companies are compiling databases, tracking non-users and tailoring the content we consume without our consent. Usually these geolocators just scrub my IP and think I live in Tennessee, but this kind of sophistication goes way beyond that. They're making connections they shouldn't be able to make simply by browsing their website. The fact that they know any personal details about someone who has never used their service is sinister as all hell. This kind of bullshit is precisely why I never used social media (hell, I've never even owned a cell phone) and they turned me into a fucking commodity anyway. I feel like I just caught someone peeping through my window . . . and at this point I wouldn't put that beyond them either.
