I've always had German Shepherd Dogs. They have to be socialized when they're young, it's part of being a responsible owner. If you aren't going to be a responsible owner, GSDs aren't the right breed for you
Truth. They're high energy, working dogs. They need a job, and a boss - and a lot of room to run in and patrol. I feel bad for GSs living in apartments, it's not enough room!
A GS puppy is a LOT of energy. Training them and socializing them is a lot of work. If you can't do it, or won't do it, stay away.

He trains a lot of neurotic GSs that were poorly trained or not trained at all by middle aged women.
A German Shepherd is NOT a good first dog, if you've never had dogs.
