I suspect the family hoped she was basically going to be like an affirmative action royal until she started causing so much trouble. People kept squeaking about it being being time there was a POC royal (I guess it's wrong for the English royal family to be English?) and everyone was excited. Now the royal family has it's own POC so they're inclusive, and frankly they did quite a lot for her. She was invited to family events before marriage which Kate was not, they spent millions on the wedding, contrary to the lies she said during this interview she was given all sorts of coaching. With all that, she managed to make herself quite unlikable, and when people started criticizing her, arrogantly claimed it was all racism. She dismissed an entire country as racist, and then is surprised they don't like her?
The English royal family is not English. They're German, Greek, and a whole bunch of other things, but there's not been an actual English (like primarily Anglo-Saxon descended royal) for a long time.
This is true, lots of German especially, although I think Queen Elizabeth actually is half English, because of her mother isn't she? But they're still not required to have a black or POC in their family. I just remember reading when their engagement was first announced some article stating it was "past time" to have a minority in the royal family. Why? Would they say the same thing about the Japanese Imperial family, for instance? What about any royal family from an African country?
They weren't letting a non pure take any seat in the family regardless of how she acted

Nope.... no one is required to have anyone in their family.
And of course they wouldn't say the same about royals from any other country.
