My favorite character of the whole series get tortured, then euthanized on screen by my second favorite character of the whole series, because apparently Star Trek no longer has even our current level of medical technology. Riker was crying about his kid dying because of unequal access to health care, because apparently there are now castes. Drug use and crime are serious issues even directly outside the headquarters of the Federation itself. You know, even though these were explicitly explained many years ago as no longer being earth problems. They brought tv watching and casual cursing into the universe. Members of the Federation are no longer some idealized version of humanity to aspire to, and are now bigoted space Nazis. FFS, there was a gay elf with a fucking sword.

Have you seen Star Trek in the last 15 years? Post Enterprise, Star Trek has been awful.
Star Trek has always been woke. I didn’t realize it until later in life and started rewatching old episodes.

All great and valid points. I guess I just enjoyed the nostalgia factor. Seeing some of my favorite characters one more time was fun.
