Needless to say there are tons of socialists and globalists who love Star Trek (moreso the post-TOS material). I've begun an Alliance called [WIN]TRUMP WON and I've started posting socratic method "red pill" statements into the server-wide "Galaxy Chat". Anyone else care to join? I think they have multiple servers, but feel free to start your own Alliance along the same lines. Hilarity. You can hear the REEEEEEE from orbit. You can download the mobile app in the usual places, but if you're like me, and you've shitcanned Google, you can download the APK directly from apkmirror.com. Why not join [WIN]? You will like it, free people will like it, commies and Kamala will hate it.

The very first episode of ST:TNG had Beverly Crusher purchasing a bolt of cloth from aliens. I found that rather odd for a show that purported the narrative of a future where we no longer use money.
Don't be bigoted towards alien monetary systems.
communism is fine in a post-scarcity world
if you can feed people with shit out of a replicator, you don't need them to work
until that actually happens though, it's a shitty system
I used to think that too until I thought about it: Replicators require massive amounts of energy from drives that require a relatively scarce resource called Dilithium. So they didn't really solve anything, they just moved the goalposts for the quick convenience of calling for food or stem bolts.
The Federation is socialist though.
They're a global power. It's all countries of Earth under one banner. A NWO if you prefer.
I believe the Federation came about after WW3 where we used nukes on eachother and there was something of a dark age. Out of that dark age came the invention of warp which alerted the Vulcan's of our tech and as we reached warp, we were deemed advanced enough for space faring civilizations and the Prime Directive was null.
I think during the early days of the Federation, there were splinters of people that wanted populism but they never achieved their goals (obviously).
I think another big wave of that happened during the teleporter testing (as a teleporter copies you on an atomic level and that data is sent to the base teleporter and the computer essentially 3D prints an exact copy of you. The original is effectively destroyed and a clone of you is created. You are never 'you' after you use a teleporter and there was a bunch of controversy about that in universe).
That's why I don't play the Federation lol
I guess they've banned me for "Violating Terms of Service" for 8 hours and have threatened to ban me permanently if I continue lol
