it'll let you know when something's about to lose STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. Kind of like an important I-beam in a hollow building becoming softer than it should.

THIS. this always has to be brought to the attention of the people that say jet fuel does not burn hot enough to melt the steel beams.

I got tired of this BS story years ago. A little bit of history FYI: my uncle was an engineer and knew the Japanese guy that designed the building. He told me the guy was always uncomfortable with the "hollow" frame design because it was a lot weaker, but that's what he was ordered to design. Probably wouldn't have made a difference after getting hit by a half-a-million pound jet, but who knows?

Agreed. Went through all these asinine arguments 15+ years ago. it is just shocking that there are so many people out there continuing to repeat these already fully debunked theories.
