I remember very similar instances Occurring with my grandfather who had dementia. You could be trying to talk to him and then something will distract him and at that point it was over. He had no idea who he was supposed to talk to Or knowledge and just blankly stood there and looked around.
Fortunately, I guess, at that point in his battle he was in a nursing home specially staffed and equipped to handle dementia and Alzheimer’s patients and nurses would come in to guide him back to his room.
If the president leave I can guarantee you staffers would have come out and had to guide Biden out of the hardware store.
