47 doesn't seem like that much though. What's the size of the staff at Huffington?

Too many. There’s a lot of excess in the media right now. With no Trump boogeyman to attack, there’s only so much Biden fawning to go around. Suddenly you have thousands and thousands of useless redundant libturds in the media with no purpose and nothing to add to the agenda.

There's likely to be a similar purge at Big Tech now that's there's not as many of us to censor.

They have around 900 employees, after some poking around. But this is Buzzfeed clearing the decks for their people, since they bought them in November. So it's a piece of shit blogging company firing useless people from another piece of shit blogging company.

Try hard to find some sympathy...looking...nope. No fucks to give, at all.

Last November. Ain't it great? They always eat their own.

Ah, the Pfizer model.

As in, six months after Pfizer buys a company, Pfizer has laid people off to be at the same size overall they were before the acquisition.

I would imagine that's because Pfizer doesn't need the company or the people - they only need the patents.

Patents and the hottest chicks in sales. Everything else is in the “synergies deck” and getting cut.

it’s review time for compensation and promotions. Easier to lay them off and hire fresh grads that work for peanuts for “experience points”.

Yep. But in this specific case, HuffPost is getting cleaned out by Buzzfeed so they can place their own people in there - that's what happens when you buy a company, you get to staff it how you like.

900? That can't possibly be right. Before we switched to patriots.win, TDW was getting more page views than Huffpost by a wide margin just six months after Reddit kicked us off.

How the fuck can they afford 900 employees?

The ridiculous thing is that the only reason they don’t need journalists any more is because they don’t care to scrutinize government. They could literally have a job if the media wasn’t biased. But it is. Their firing is literally proof of this.

It's about a third of the company.

Depends how many countries they run in. I work in online media (proofing, editing, writing, etc.) and most online journals/news sites/magazines, etc. are moving towards freelancers so they don't have to pay them like full-time employees while still getting content out.

Huffington Post is still pretty big though so 47 probably isn't that much. Probably just fluff people who write about bullshit.

You described the entirety of huffpo.
