The Leftist bike path / multipurpose trail fixation is amazing. I like a good trail as much as the next guy, but these people will neglect basic infrastructure maintenance to build trails, if you let them.
North Mid Tenn had some extremely based areas. And not far from Nashville. Kentucky border is less than an hour North of Nashville. Lifestyle options are not very prevalent but if one seeks based homefront and a major population center for a quick day trip lots can be had in the area.
