Because 18 years earlier, they had a chance to kick out another Senator, who at a bare minimum was negligent in leaving a woman to due in his car. Instead, that person is celebrated.
That is the party of liars and murderers right there.

They literally used to think it was ok to OWN people to the point of fighting a war to keep owning them. They never were a party of honor and decency.
