I took a friend to a job interview today at the local zoo.
While I was sitting there waiting to find out if I needed come back later or wait - a cop pulled up and slowly circled my vehicle before telling me that he'd received a report of a "suspicious" looking male "loitering" in a vehicle in the parking lot.
I'm thinking that some Karen called the police because I was the only person out there without a mask.
Luckily he left once he verified that I wasn't some dangerous criminal and had valid reason to be in a public space. Lol..
So the cop got called by a Karen to check out a suspicious person. And no doubt Karen was probably extra dramatic in describing the situation. Cop responded to the call for service because that's kinda like their job. Then he investigated and it sounds like he quickly determined the call was bullshit and then left?
How exactly is that rising to the threshold of hassling? Maybe being a bit of a dramatic Karen ourselves are we?
That's exactly how it goes. When I was in the business there was a phrase we used: "I'm sure you'll give it the attention it deserves." The cop responding didn't know if he'd find a guy whacking off to kids at the zoo, or a guy reading Hamlet. I hope the OP isn't literally shaking.
