Thank you bill clinton and your governorship. I came from Nebraska in the third grade learning computer sciences (albeit beginner) and 2nd in the nation as a state for education, to arkansas 48th in the nation where the "gifted and talented" program (what they called advanced placement in ne) was for the medically and mentally handicapped. No offence to those persons as all are deserving of a decent educatuon. However I spent my time in school bored as fuck, because the teaching here was on a lesser level geared toward budgeting, not educating the future of the nation.

Population wide average IQ is not a good measure for anything. IQ itself isn't really a good measure of anything across any given population.

IQ measures variance within a peer group. It's not meaningful in other contexts.

You are literally looking at why its useful in other contexts...

No.

There are no other contexts. The data presented in the post are literally meaningless.

Just because you say so, does not make it true...I think the problem here is you don't know the definition of some words and terms. You don't seem to know what the words literally, or meaningless mean. Anyway, the peer group in this instance are the different states...Out of curiosity, do you know the average IQ of a black person in the U.S? Do you know the correlation between people with a low IQ, and cluster B personality types? IQ is a very good means to determine why certain people get into certain situations, ie, contexts. Poverty, violence, resist arrest, BLM, voting democrat...

Anyway, the peer group in this instance are the different states.

That's NOT a valid peer group for the purpose of comparing IQ measurements.

Oh okay...Why not?

Peer groups for IQ testing are educational level groups...

One simply cannot compare an IQ test for a High School grad with an IQ test for an Engineer... it doesn't make any sense whatsoever because the two individuals are not educational peers. It makes even less sense to compare some sort of muddled or generalized IQ test results between geographically large areas such as States.

Simply put, the posted chart has no meaning whatsoever.

If one looks at CA vs. NJ for example... both States are very "Blue"... both States have large and highly rated Universities. However, CA is indicated as a "lower IQ" than NJ. But... this is meaningless when one begins to look at the population density and "where" those IQ result are located. If one picks out a few large University areas of CA and NJ, that comparison would begin to look much more equal.... If one were to compare the rural areas (with rural based IQ tests) and then compare the overall IQs from each area, the comparisons would equalize a little more...

In essence, the map makes no sense. It's divided arbitrarily AND unscientifically along geopolitical boundaries without any peer-related weighting applied to any of the data displayed.

The chart is worthless, except as some sort of political message...

As a disclaimer of sorts, I'm an EE... a Trump voter... and from a Blue State (unhappily so)... my last measured IQ (within my peer group) was 138.

No one is comparing highschool grad's with engineer's. It's comparing average IQ's in each state...No one is saying it's geopolitical, it's geographical, cause you know, map. You can infer what you want, some implied it's the water...I don't know why you're telling me your profession or your apparent IQ, it's the average...Also, rural based IQ tests? What the fuck are you on about...Anyway, I don't care about this.

Also consider which state's populations get the majority of their drinking water from personal wells that are not polluted with fluoride instead of town or city water supplies that are. Just a thought, don't know if it's relevant.

Further subdivide this by race

HeavenlyTrumpets 2 points ago +2 / -0

These numbers pretty clearly reflect racial makeup of the states.

These numbers were higher until the mass immigration and interbreeding happened. We will never go up in intelligence, only down.

Massachusetts?

Doubtful. I have spent time in MA. No way those Massholes have the highest average IQ’s

high IQ people can also be suckers and morons.

Southerners absolutely BTFO

secret: these numbers reflect the racial makeup of the states.

1
buckfoomers 1 point ago +1 / -0

I know, but that's a no-no topic here.

2
HeavenlyTrumpets 2 points ago +2 / -0

It shouldn't be. It's just reality.

Because blacks are targeted by the welfare system and are stuck going to shitty public schools.

No_name_needed -3 points ago +1 / -4

Except they're dumb everywhere in all conditions. You can put them in the fanciest prep school give them access to all the tutors and whatever else they need, it won't fix the stupid in their DNA.

There have been plenty of smart black people, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Candace Owens, Kimberly Klacik etc.

If outliers can exist then the problem isn't because they're black, it's the welfare state, the poor education, drugs and the culture that developed around all of that. It's the ones that escape all of that that end up doing well.

I'm not exactly sure what your argument is here, but outliers don't change fundamental truths, in fact they reinforce them.

The vast majority of joggers are stupid, and intelligence is mostly genetic. You can put any jogger in ideal conditions for living and learning and it will not change the stupid in their dna. Decades of expensive social engineering projects and handouts and "programz" and all kinds of hopeless endeavors to improve them have shown this to be true.

Surprised NC hits 100 considering the 20% jigaboo population.
