It is the only time in their lives that they have had "power" and they love it. There are hundreds of videos online proving my point.
Ok great, got me on a technicality. The vast majority of retail workers are just trying to get through their day. If you've ever worked retail you know how little fucks you give about customers. Also, they know that maskless people walking in are likely to cause interference with other customers who are "scared" by maskless people so in terms of them doing what's "best" for their store, it makes a lot of sense. Attack the people who actually initiate these policies.

They try to enforce mask rules because their employers make it mandatory because their states governors make it mandatory and they tell customers to wear masks because they want to keep their jobs. It's pretty simple to understand. I have sympathy for anyone who has to go against their principles in order to feed their kids.
