The only way to get an XX male (or XY female) is by having the genetic code on the Y chromosome that makes a human male present on an X chromosome (XX male) or missing from the Y chromosome (XY female).
In other words, trans and homosexuality need to be looked at separately from the trans thing because there's some stuff in the genetic code that will still construct things within the body as clearly male or female... meaning that forcing a gender transition can't happen without modern technology, and we're still not at the point where the transition is anything other than a mutilation because there's no way to create testes and ovaries that produce the correct hormones, let alone new sperm or eggs.
I mean, it really depends on what we're looking at as the cause. If (for example) a guy is physically impossible of producing the testosterone needed to be straight (and thus, he's gay), then shouldn't he get supplements that help him in that regard? That's really not THAT far off from how a lot of mental disorders are treated, and IMO homosexuality and gender dysphoria should be treated as mental disorders.
That said, there's a lot of other ways to increase your testosterone, so those supplements should be the absolute last resort.
Hormones do affect mental health and while men can get them easily, women cannot. I have always assumed there is a good reason for that, but now I just don't know.

Yes, thank you for the clarity, I don't think hormones are the answer though, just one variable of several possible variables.
