Exactly. It's amazing to me people still think this is a 'free society'. Government spending used to be 10% of the national income for over 120 years. Now it's 45%. There are so many rules, regulations and taxes the average American breaks numerous laws each day. We're forced to participate in a lifelong governmental Ponzi scheme. We're forced to participate in an extremely dangerous "safety net". Hell, we're even forced to wear a seatbelt when we drive. We literally have the most expensive government in the history of the world...by far.
