Offended people are people too scared and afraid to confront their problems. Look at Daryl Davis, instead of being offended some people didn't like him, he educated them and changed their views. So many people just want to take offense and shut down someone who disagrees with them, its lazy and pussy. That is all

There are perfectly valid reasons to be offended though -- it just depends upon the focus of such.

For some examples: I'm offended by the insistence by some that the public view something like drag queen story hour as appropriate, nay, wholesome events for young children and wish to force that view upon everyone else. I'm offended by the insistence that workers will somehow be a-ok in a purely service economy with no industrial output and thus no higher paying jobs which might lift them out of the welfare state. I'm offended by the persistent attacks on free and open discourse of ideas, taking away the public forum of ideas and opinions.

See? Taking offense is perfectly natural...it just depends upon what one takes offense.

Good points. I guess getting offended because someone doesn't like you, is what I meant. Who cares who likes you, as long as they don't interfere with your life or infringe on your freedoms

Oh, no worries, I got your basic gist. But, in this world of "the center cannot hold", it's a good idea to stay anchored in the meaning (words are important; one of the ways they get people wrongfooted is to obscure this).

When everything is offensive, nothing is -- and we really don't want to go down that path ;)
