Lost my temper at Sprouts in Texas today. I was followed down an aisle by a clerk waving a box of masks at me. I told her Governor Abbott lifted the mask order. I went to checkout, the clerk said I had to wear a mask to checkout. I told her Abbott lifted the mask order...it did not matter. So I left my purchase on the conveyer belt and Walked out furious. Went next door to Pet Supermarket and walked straight to checkout and asked if I can buy without a mask. They said sure. And I told them about Sprouts and their eyes got big......... we live among idiots, and they run companies......

The mask cult is not going away unfortunately. They think muh COVID gives them the right to impose their beliefs on others.

When the grocery store I go to became strict and I didn’t have time to go elsewhere, I printed up a bunch of tiny anti mask stickers on my printer and placed them on products and shelves as I shopped...tiny reminders for other lucky shoppers to find after I’d gone. Hopefully it made at least a few people think about it.

This what drives me insane. All these fucks acting like the mask order being lifted changes how businesses will react or treat you. It won't. The ones who said nothing before, will still say nothing to you. The ones who harass you or make you leave, will still do so. Go back and fill your cart with as much cold perishable food as possible. When they tell you that you can't checkout just leave and make them put it all back. They may even have to throw some out if they aren't quick about it. If you put fresh fruits and veggies and meat in your cart they may just throw all that out anyway.
The state mandate made it required for all places. Stores can still have mask requirements. It's under their discretion. They don't have to serve you.

Control your emotions, you are better than them. You're lucky you aren't in Cali. Next time have a nice big shopping cart full of perishable groceries, if they won't let you pay calmly ask for a manager and see if you have any luck. If not, time to find a new store.
But, this is how freedom of choice works. I'm all about individuals freedoms, the mask mandate is gone, and it should have always been a business/individuals decision to do what they feel is correct. If a business wants to require something, that's their freedom. If you don't like it, its your freedom to go somewhere else.
I had this same conversation with my barber. He chose to require masks still, the haircut is worth it to me so i put a mask on and go get my hair cut. When i get out of his shop, the mask comes off.
I respect others freedoms, I will always vote with my dollars.
Would really love to see a thread or something showing the places not mandating masks, or harassing customers to wear them. HEB said they will ask you to wear one and even provide you with one, But will not escalate the situation. that from Scott McLelland himself.
